Cobalt-based accelerators are used in the curing process of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins with methyl ethyl peroxide. The accelerating property of cobalt base is to increase the curing speed of unsaturated polyester resin or vinyl ester resin, which makes this operation possible at room temperature. Cobalt accelerators also help the catalyst to react between resin and styrene monomer to produce a solid product.
